A Day Trip To The Blue Chip Casino In Michigan City, IN

It's been awhile, since I've visited the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, IN.  There are other casinos closer to home, so it's one of those places that I don't visit too often.  The Blue Chip Casino is a Boyd property which is located close to the shores of Lake Michigan and their hotel tower overlooks the lake with some impressive views.  I've never stayed at their hotel, but I've been told that their accommodations are very nice.  Now if I were to receive some comp offers for free rooms, I wouldn't hesitate in staying there for a night or two!

The 2 hour drive heading from Chicago to Michigan City wasn't too bad, although the return trip was a nightmare.  In addition to all of the roadwork and resurfacing that's being done on I-94 in Indiana, there was an accident between an 18 Wheeler and a couple of cars that caused a major traffic jam.  Oh well, on second thought, I probably should have used my winnings and booked a room at the Blue Chip for the night ...LOL.

Anyways, Mondays at the Blue Chip is when they have their "Young At Heart" promotion for their 50+ yr old members, so the place was dominated by us older folks ...LOL.  Their Young At Heart promotion isn't as good as the Boyd promotions at there Las Vegas properties, since they only offer 6x Slot/3x VP multipliers and 50% off their buffet, after earning 25 points at the Blue Chip.  It only took a couple of minutes to earn 25 points, so I decided to try their lunch buffet.  As usual, I forgot to take some food porn pics!  Although, I did remember to take a couple of photos when I arrived.

Their lunch buffet is pretty good and offers the typical buffet cuisine that you'll find at most places.  They do have specialty buffets depending on the day of the week, but Monday is just the standard affair.  They also have a few other dining options including William B's Steakhouse, Nelson's Deli (open 24/7), and The Game (sports bar).

The casino at the Blue Chip is not as huge as compared to the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN which I tend to frequent more often, but it's a nice place overall and I tend to have pretty good luck playing VP here.  I didn't take pics of all my wins, but I hit several Royals w/Deuces, 4OAKs, Full Houses, and couple of Straight Flushes.  I usually start out playing quarter Deuces Wild, but sometimes I switch over to the higher denominations when I'm ahead.

Overall, I think I'm getting better at playing VP, since I've been having more winning trips lately vs. losing ones!  LOL!
