September 9-22, 2007 Reno/Las Vegas Trip Report featuring the Reno National Air Races & Air Show

I never wrote a trip report for my 2 week vacation trip to Reno and Las Vegas in September 2007. Although, the highlight of this trip was attending the National Air Races which is held annually in Reno, Nevada.

Overall, the Air Races and Air Show were great, but with 5 major crashes and 3 pilots loosing their lives during race week, it made the whole event rather sad.  Here are some photos from the Air Races and Air Show which is held at Stead Field.

A small jet aircraft crashed after getting caught in the backwash of another jet as the group approached the starting pillar.  I was seated almost center stage in the grandstand when this unfortunate accident occurred.
